Abstract
In this paper, a winnerless competition(WLC) network consists of nine FitzHugh-Nagumo(FHN) neurons have been introduced to investigate the effect of high-frequency driving on the response of neuron system to a subthreshold low-frequency signal. We show that optimal amplitude of high-frequency driving enhances the response of neuron system to a subthreshold low-frequency input. Further, we also show that vibrational resonance(VR) in the WLC network can also induce the system to produce the spatiotemporal encoding. We find that it can efficiently improve the spatiotemporal encoding of the WLC network in response to subthreshold low-frequency input.
