Abstract
Flow data for an open channel collected at an overshot regulator under submerged and closed loop operating conditions has been modelled according to traditional static hydraulic equations, and the parameters estimated. The parameter estimation task is based on system identification techniques. Further simplifications in order to improve the performance of the identified equations have been suggested and evaluated on the data set. These simplified model structures have been found to be better performed
