Abstract :
In this study 10 patients of various ages were selected for hydroxyapatite augmentation. Teeth, which should be extracted, were unrestorable under normal conditions by any endodontic or prosthetic procedure. For every case X-rays were taken before extraction and after augmentation. Every case was also controlled with X-rays after three months of augmentation and it was seen that hydroxyapatite particulates were safely osseoconducted. It is concluded that hydroxyapatite augmentation is a valuable method to prevent atrophy of alveolar ridges after extractions
