Abstract
In this paper we propose a distributed adaptive connection admission control policy for mobile wireless networks. We first develop an analytical model that takes user mobility into consideration. We then use this model in our adaptive connection admission control (ACAC) policy. A simulation study has been conducted to test our policy along with another wireless connection admission policy. It has been shown that our policy outperforms the other policy under homogeneous and non-homogeneous load conditions. Furthermore, the simplicity of our connection admission algorithm makes it suitable for real time execution, and the distributed nature of the policy and the independence of the base stations eliminate the communication overhead required by other wireless call admission control policies
