Abstract
As the internet grows dramatically and the information is exploding, natural language processing is playing more and more important role to obtain useful knowledge quickly. China is rich in language resources, so we need to invest considerable effort to gather and process these languages. However, researches on Chinese minority languages processing is very inadequate. It is disadvantageous to promote multiethnic communication and contract Digital Divide. The paper analyzes the state of the art of Chinese minority languages processing, then, prospects its development orientation based on the former analyses. Our aim is to improve the rapid development of minority language processing so as to keep up with Chinese information processing. The paper also discusses the current situation of Chinese minority languages processing under the consideration of theory and technique aspects. Combining applications in several research fields, we suggest that cross-language information processing and cloud computing platform are two important future directions for Chinese minority languages processing.
