Abstract :
The Portable Rechargeable Battery Association is a not-for-profit battery trade organization made up of over 125 manufacturers, distributors, assemblers, users, suppliers and sellers of small seated rechargeable batteries and rechargeable consumer products. The PRBA´s focus is to respond to the growing needs for workable battery collection programs by developing plans that can be utilized industrywide. Here, the author examines the efforts of the rechargeable battery and rechargeable consumer products industries to form and implement such a national collection program for rechargeable batteries in the United States
