Abstract :
Storm surges´ generation, classification and their characteristics are briefly describes, focused on losses caused by storm surge hazards and disaster factors. Finally the effective defense for storm surges disasters are preliminarily discussed to provide the basis for disasters protection and mitigation to economic developing coastal areas.
