Abstract
In this paper, the procedure and result of modeling angular dynamics of a model-scale helicopter in hover and low speed flight is presented based on flight test data with application of support vector machines (SVMs). Prior knowledge is incorporated through the selection of feature of SVMs to reduce the burden of calculation. The performance of the developed model is verified by the comparison between predicted response from the model and actual data from the flight experiments.
