  • Abstract
    For the problem of large overshoot and long accommodation time in the control process of long time-delay system, this paper proposed an improved generalized predictive control algorithm with a simple PI structure. By introducing the simple PI structure into the cost function the overshoot is restrained effectively. By analysing the mechanism of restraining the overshoot the principle of choosing the proportional part in the cost function has been researched when the system has long time-delay. Compared with the existing algorithm with PID structure or with PI structure the new algorithm has little compute work. Not at all, the calculation of inverse matrix is not necessary by softening the system input Δu(k+j),so the calculating work is further reduced. Simulating research show that this improved generalized predictive control algorithm is effective.
