Abstract :
A novel design of a 2.4/5.2 GHz dual-band chip antenna using LTCC processing has been demonstrated. With a multilayer ceramic design, a good performance and a smaller size chip antenna can be easily achieved, The total size of the proposed antenna is about 240×150×57.6 mil3 (6×3.8×1.5 mm3). The dual-band chip antenna is very useful for IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN applications. A dual-band chip antenna, with the dual-band operation including the 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz bands, has also been achieved for the case with a spiral monopole design. The impedance bandwidths of dual operating mode are satisfied, and, furthermore, good radiation characteristics have also been observed. The proposed antennas have potential applications in wireless communication products.
