Abstract :
Presents a secure password-only authenticated key exchange (PAKE) method, designed based on the features of linear and nonlinear group as well as non-group cellular automata (CA). It takes the advantage of the work of D.P. Jablon (1997) and it utilizes the work of D.K. Bhattacharyya et al. (1997) in providing authentication and key establishment over an insecure channel, basically using a small password without the risk of off-line dictionary attack. In light of the various known as well as the unknown attacks, it offers intruders a high order of complexity to gain knowledge of the key. Also, due to the regular, modular and cascadable CA-based logic structure, the method is found to be significant and attractive in comparison to other methods
