Abstract :
The characteristics of real time operating system (RTOS) are analyzed and its advantages in design of embedded computer numerical control system (CNC system) are highlighted, according to comparisons with general operating systems. In this study, RTOS μC/OS - II is introduced in the embedded hardware platform of CNC system based on ARM and Motion Control Chip. Furthermore, the software architecture of the CNC system is constructed and tasks of CNC system are given the PRI and task schedule is analyzed. Lastly, an application example is given.
