Abstract :
The paper presents the possibility of building an electronic system of measuring the locomotive wheel load. The condition of the best spring system regulation can be achieved by correcting the dimensional distances of springs and selecting springs of certain force features. To perform that, it is necessary to preliminarily determine the static load of each wheel of the vehicle. The most precise regulation can be accomplished with simultaneous measuring the load of all wheels on the track. However, such stands are not able to cover the great variety of locomotives and trainsets (the number of wheel axles and the difference in the distance between them). In those cases it is possible to do measuring in bogies and at last in individual wheel axles. The particular example examined in the paper is of the specific organization of stand for SIEMENS trainsets where measuring is for bogies. On the basis of the load measured, the system allows determining the condition of the best regulation and computing the corrections necessary to achieve this condition.
