Abstract :
This paper discusses the developing electrical needs for wind tower generators (WTGs), and highlights the merits of brushless doubly fed reluctance machine (BDFRM) for these applications. There is a brief development of models for the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and BDFRM generator. These models show their similarities and how the BDFRM can be used instead of the DFIG, with the added benefits of brushless operation
