  • Abstract
A challenging issue in future wireless networks is how to guarantee quality of service (QoS) requirements over the lifetime of mobile connections, and at the same time making efficient use of the network resources. A distributed call admission control (CAC) scheme is proposed for QoS provisioning in wireless networks. The proposed CAC scheme incorporates user mobility information for QoS provisioning and efficient use of network resources, where the mobility information is defined as the estimated handoff probabilities of each mobile user to the neighboring base stations. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed CAC scheme can guarantee the required QoS requirements in terms of the handoff call dropping probability
