Abstract :
An improved method for the analysis of the fields within a section of deformed waveguide is discussed. The method is based on an iterative solution to the Stratton-Chu diffraction formulae and can be used in the synthesis of waveguide mode converters. In particular, it can be efficiently applied to the analysis of the fields in tapered gyrotron launchers.
