Abstract :
This paper discusses the mechanisms to support generation supply adequacy that have been implemented in the countries of the Central American region and the lessons learned from this experience. Also covered is the role of the Regional Market - which is being implemented- in the support of supply contracts across borders through "firm" transmission rights and its contribution to an increased efficiency of the existing supply adequacy mechanisms
