Abstract :
This paper examines the system design of a range of RF amplifiers for Science and Industry that are in an advanced stage of development at e2v. It describes how traditional industrial motor drive power electronics and modern industrial high voltage converter design have been integrated into a compact modular unit and how system control and monitoring is achieved via a new generation of embedded, real time controller. Also discussed is the impact of new techniques in control and inverter topologies.
