Abstract :
A study of cross frequency blanking for the mitigation of radio frequency interference in microwave radiometry is described. The data utilized were acquired in a 2005 flight over Texas cities, and include observations from 5.5 to 7.7 GHz at 0.1 MHz spectral resolution. A simple algorithm is described for detecting and mitigating interference, and the approach is shown to succeed in reducing the impact of both strong and low level interference.
