Abstract :
A new cooperative model for design and implementation of distributed systems is proposed. The model uses a concept of seeds of software objects. An object at a site of a distributed system can make its seed and send it to another site for making approaches to another object. The seed is germinated, becoming a child object. The child object executes necessary jobs and returns to home site if necessary. This model accrues several benefits such as reduction of exchanges on communication media, reduction of total amount of program codes and flexibility of system structure. A software library, named OM Library to realize this model has been developed. Though the current OM Library can only send seeds to sites where codes of the class are already prepared, it is confirmed that the mechanism of this model works well. An enhanced OM Library by which objects can send seeds to where class codes are not prepared is being developed
