Abstract :
The evaluation of designs and materials for electrical contacts is complex-there are nearly always special conditions for the application, i.e. interactions between materials and with certain environmental influences. An evaluation index has been established referring to such uncommon influencing factors. The evaluation index follows the normal procedure for evaluating a new type of electrical contact. Construction parameters and stress parameters during production and use are considered. A table is included which lists classical examples of problems and more complex problems in two columns, which are tabulated against the parameters that are evaluated. Evaluation of new electric contact systems with this technique is discussed
