Abstract :
Implementation with common object request broker architecture (CORBA) based communication mechanism between a JADE platform multi agent system (MAS) and virtual test bed (VTB) simulation package is discussed in detail. CORBA allows application interoperability, which is independent of platform, operating system, and programming language. This mechanism enables the creation of gateways between external applications and simulation in VTB. This technique allows external applications, agents in this case, a means of control over a shipboard power system (SPS) simulation in VTB. The agents can be placed on a power system schematic to receive and send signals during runtime. Each agent of the MAS is connected to a major SPS component for local control actions and monitoring. This MAS can control and reconfigure the SPS in order to maintain the continuity of electrical supply to vital loads. Two simple test cases are presented to demonstrate the proposed system
