Abstract
Dielectric Electro Active Polymer (DEAP) is a new material for energy harvesting based on mechanical-to-electric energy conversion. In this paper, by using Matlab simulation, we prove that the original simple DEAP energy harvesting system cannot actually harvest energy. Then, a new system design based on DEAP is proposed to harvest energy. In the proposed system, the energy harvesting and feedback circuit loops keep the system working without external source. The simulation results show that the new system can harvest energy, and the bias voltage is supplied by the system self. Hence, no external source is needed.
