Abstract
IRCTR is currently developing a high resolution radar aimed at the observation of rainfall and drizzle parameters for use in hydrological studies and in studies of the effect of the increase in anthropogenic aerosols in the radiation budget. Much effort has been done at obtaining a high sensitivity to be able to detect low reflectivity phenomena like drizzle. The radar is placed in the Cabauw meteorological super-site, allowing synergy with other instruments to further improve its capabilities.
