Abstract
To further technical progress, it is fundamental to research innovative approaches to apparently solved problem assignments. DC drives are used in variable designs and play a decisive role in the use of low voltages and low power. In this paper a novel alternative DC drive - a simple two-quadrant DC motor controller with tapped inductor converter - is analyzed. It enables a controlled voltage transformation. The paper includes an accurate model description, its schematic diagram, the final device design and some experimental results. Furthermore, the basic abstract calculations and detailed explanations are provided.
