Abstract :
In this paper, the effects of a human body on the performance of wearable PIFAs and RF transmission are numerically investigated by using a finite difference time-domain method. First, the performance of the wearable PIFAs operating at ISM-2.4GHz with different ground plane sizes and distances from the head is evaluated in terms of the input impedance, as well as the peak and effective radiation gain. Next, the effect of the human body on the RF transmission when one antenna is located on the head, and the other on the shoulder or waist is investigated
