Abstract :
Based on the the full volocity difference (FVD) model, an extended car following model is proposed by considering the effect of drivers´ response delay in real traffic world. The stability criterion for the new model is obtained by using the linear stability theory. The good agreement between theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results shows that the raffic jams will occur easily when the drivers´ delay in response increases.
