Abstract :
High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) value of the signals is a major drawback of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique is one of the most efficient techniques to improve the PAPR reduction performance of an OFDM signal, but its exhaustive search over all combinations of allowed phase factors must be reduced for usable applications. In this paper, an efficient PTS-based algorithm with harmony search is proposed to decrease the search complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed approach provides good PAPR performance with lower computational complexity.
