Abstract :
Microblog is a mixture of web media and social network and it has become prevalent in recent years. This new web service is in various countries, and does not only appear with inlanguages, but also contains some internal distinctions, such as content, social structure and government policy. In this paper, we conduct a thorough comparison between Twitter, the most popular Microblog service, and ShuoKe, a Chinese native Microblog service. On the one hand, we analyze the content in both services, using text clustering to reveal what kinds of topics are hot. On the other hand, we depict the social network of the two services through the relationships among Microblog users. Based on these two procedures, we present how international policy influences Microblog in different countries.
