Abstract :
Multi-frame integration is a common method used in the technique of image enhancement, but multi-frame cumulative method has a certain limitation for processing low light level image. In this paper an improved multi-frame integration technique based on the mode value theory is carried out, called mode multi-frame integration. Mathematical statistics is made on the grey scale values of all the corresponding pixels inside the neighborhood frames and the pixel grey value which appears with the maximum of probability is chosen as the filtering result. Therefore the processed image is much closer to the original one. The experimental results show that it can suppress the light and dark point´s noises of the low light level images effectively and the protection property of the image edges is better than that of multi-frame integration.
