Abstract
Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) is used to analyze the propagation of pulse traveling in microstrip lines. Characteristics of Gaussian pulse are studied on their zoom-in time-amplitude windows, fast Fourier transforms, and time-frequency results. FDTD method is used to get the waveform of Gaussian pulse signal propagating in microstrip line, and then WVD technique can be used to observe the distortion locally at any time and at any point in the microstrip line and is especially attractive to the microstrip line with complex structure, which can be analyzed by FDTD.
