Abstract :
This paper describes the development of PCI bus interface card, which eventually works as AVR 8 - bit microcontroller trainer system. A microcontroller trainer system that includes all the essential sub - systems such as programmer, debugger, interfacing external peripherals and a front end user application such as Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The card developed is intended to offer a low cost solution to the students to fasten design and develop embedded systems on AVR microcontrollers. The development of this card inspires the researchers and design engineers, who have disillusion for designing PCI bus interface card for their new systems. The use of this PCI card by educational institutions cuts the budget for purchasing costly hardware and software trainer systems.
