Abstract
In recent years, smart antenna technology has became the most attractive technology in the 3rd generation systems, it has perfect performances in many aspects such as improving system capacity, expanding cell coverage, reducing the transmit power of mobile station and rejecting multiple access interference (MAI). Beamforming is one of the most important applications in DS-CDMA. Minimum variance is an ideal program for beamforming because it can considerate the interference and the noise of mobile station comprehensively. This paper describes two kinds of beamformer configurations, applying minimum variance to achieve algorithm and simulate the algorithm.
