Abstract :
A novel coaxial-fed dielectric resonator antenna is proposed as a wideband uniform radiator having its radiation pattern very similar to an electric monopole. However, compared to electric monopole, the newly proposed antenna shows much larger bandwidth and gain over the entire spectrum. Nearly 40% bandwidth (10 dB return loss) with 4 to 5 dBi gain has been obtained. The design data are generated using Ansoft HFSS code.
