Abstract :
A novel design of circular ring monopole antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented and studied for ultra wideband (UWB) applications in this paper. Printed on a dielectric substrate and fed by a 50Ω CPW on the same side of the substrate, a circular ring monopole can operate over an ultra wide frequency range with omni-directional radiation patterns over the entire bandwidth. Good agreement has been obtained between the simulation and experiment.
