Abstract :
In this paper, a novel multi-wavelength and wavelength switchable actively mode-locked ring laser based on a semiconductor optical amplifier and cascaded fiber Bragg gratings has been proposed and discussed. Stable wavelength switchable mode-locked pulses have been obtained. Simultaneous multi-wavelength operation is also demonstrated using this scheme through properly designing the length of the ring cavity and the spacing between adjacent gratings.
