Abstract :
The authors describe the steps required for designing a township reticulation scheme and show how software now under development, called CART1.1 (Computer Aided Reticulation of Townships), assists in this design process. The software is already available in prototype form. The next version of CART is under consideration and research projects are in progress which will provide other more advanced features for inclusion into CART. In designing and implementing the CART software, an object oriented design methodology was used. This will greatly facilitate any required enhancements and refinements to the software
