Abstract
The inter-block evaluation method have is quite effective to further reduce processing time and improve image quality in GA-based binary image halftoning schemes. It increases the accuracy of fitness calculation for individuals by the effect of information sharing between neighbor blocks. In this paper, we try to apply the inter-block evaluation method to GA-based multi-level image halftoning problem and observe the effectiveness of this method. Also, we suggest an indicator of adaptive parameter setting for the variance of Gaussian filter used in the fitness function.
