Abstract :
On the base of analyzing the sensitive bands of different wavelengths and the high correlation coefficients with chlorophyll of different algorithms (Ratio, Difference and Band Combination), using the simple regression and multivariate regression the semi-empirical models for assessing Suspended sediment concentration in Taihu Lake are developed by relating the different MODIS band combinations to Suspended sediment measurements based on different season. Then the distribution of Suspended sediment concentration in Taihu Lake is mapped, and the different season´ s water quality state of Taihu Lake is evaluated based on Carlson TSI method. The results of this study show that MODIS image data is useful in water quality monitoring in Taihu Lake.
