Abstract :
Data and interactions with data are becoming less dependent on centralized systems today. Particularly, when peer- to-peer (P2P) networks are widely used, many distributed methods are applied in different researches. The data in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are multi-dimensional, scattered and complex data. Those special traits make it difficult for spatial data to be retrieved in traditional methods. In this paper, a distributed approach for retrieving spatial data - RSD- CAN, over P2P networks, is presented to enhance the efficiency and improve performance in dealing with spatial data.
