Abstract :
A method developed to obtain black-and-white graphics in super-twist nematic (STN) liquid-crystal displays. The method uses achromatic polymer layer attached to an STN panel to neutralize colours caused by birefringence of the STN. This optical colour compensation technology has been called retardation control by film.<>
