Abstract :
The present work aims to demonstrate that a high quality rectifier (HQR) driven by a suitable fuzzy logic controller (FLC) does not require a voltage postregulator in order to be used as a standard power supply (SPS) unit. A HQR based on a Cuk stage working in continuous conduction mode is considered. The conventional current control scheme is compared with a more sophisticated control system including a PD fuzzy controller specifically developed. Experimental measurements on a 70 W 100 kHz prototype using a software implementation of the proposed fuzzy controller are reported to practically evaluate the consistence of the proposed approach. Implementation of the proposed fuzzy controller in a cost effective way on commercial products is addressed by considering the use of an analog fuzzy engine
