Abstract
A new design concept is presented for reconfigurable ultra-thin EBG absorbers that employ FSS screens made from conducting polymer materials. A robust GA technique was developed and successfully applied to evolve optimal designs for the ultra-thin EBG absorbers. Design examples of a single-band and a dual-band reconfigurable EBG absorber are presented.
