Abstract :
Today, wind generation developers and utilities alike face a number of similar challenges and issues when dealing with interconnection of new wind generation projects - also known as wind farms. Rapidly evolving technology employed in the wind turbine generators and the associated evolution of technical capabilities of the machines; changing technical requirements for interconnection to the transmission grid; and changes in the way wind generators and wind projects are modeled for interconnection studies are among the challenges. This paper addresses these challenges and some of the issues surrounding them
