Abstract :
Organic coatings actually used in aerospace industry present very high corrosion performances due to the presence of chromate fillers. However, regulations for environment and human health protection lead to the development of low toxicity paints without chromates. The major purpose of the present study is to analyse the specific influence of chromates on the physical structure of an epoxy-polyamido amine paint before substitution. So a comparison of films containing fillers with different morphologies like talc and barium sulphate currently used in paint formulation, has been performed.
