Abstract :
A generalized area of the cross section of a laser beam with an arbitrary distribution of the optical power over the area of the beam cross section is an area of the cross section of an equivalent beam with a constant power density and the total power equal to that of the real beam. The aim of this paper is to validate the techniques for measuring the generalized area of laser beam with a grid-type measuring device containing thin-wire bolometer elements
