Abstract
This paper discusses the feasibility of applying thermal-plasma solid-waste treatment (TST) technology to achieve straw resource recovery. It introduces the technology´s process flow, the basic principles of thermal plasma as well as vitrification and gasification in TST, and analyzes of the advantages and disadvantages of applying TST to achieve the resource recovery of straw. It proposes that the technology is applicable for straw resource recovery because it is of high rate of resource recovery, strong processing capacity and effective comprehensive utilization, but that the technology´s industrialization is limited by high energy consumption and difficulty in centralizing raw materials. Nevertheless, these limitations will be solved gradually with China´s development. Thus, this technology is enjoying a brightening application prospect.
