Abstract :
To evaluate the toxic effects of environmental contaminant PFOS on green algae, Chlorella pyrenoidosa was cultured in media containing serially diluted PFOS for evaluation of proliferation capacity and physiological indexes. Within 96h, PFOS dose equal or over 160 mg/L all inhibited the proliferation speed of Chlorella pyrenoidosa(p<;0.05) by resulting in approximate linear proliferation curves, different from the exponential curve in control group. The 96h EC50 value of PFOS was determined to be 320 mg/L. Eight days of PFOS treatment resulted decreasing of chlorophyll a content, dissolvable protein content, and catalase activity in Chlorella pyrenoidosa at different level. Among the physiological indexes checked, chlorophyll a content showed the highest sensitivity to PFOS treatment.
