Abstract
The quality of the electrical supply is a critical issue in a Synchrotron Light Source Facility. The facility will comprise a 3 GeV electron storage ring - fed from a 100 MeV linac and a full energy booster synchrotron - that will generate synchrotron radiation into, initially, seven beamlines. A description of the electrical supply system requirements and the solutions adopted will be presented in this paper. ALBA, as it is called our Synchrotron Light Source machine, is located in a high populated area where the characteristics of the power grid call for special measures to ensure the required quality of supply.
