Abstract
Summary form only given. A large number of 1-D magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) calculations of Al and Ni array implosions have been carried out for a set of idealized current conditions. The calculations indicate the pulse power machine requirements that are needed in these idealized implosions to produce large X-ray yields efficiently. These calculations have important implications for pulse power machine, diode, and load design
